Several writers, poets and journalists lauded the efforts of noted journalist Devi Priya for his commentary on contemporary political and other issues in his column “Running Commentary” in three Telugu dailies for more than three decades.

Professor G Haragopal released three volumes of Devi Priya’s collection of poems “Running Commentary” at a function here on Wednesday. Film director Dasari Narayana Rao released the e-Books, which are available for sale on Kinige.com.

Speaking on the occasion, Dasari Narayana Rao said though Devi Priya made critical comments against politicians, including NT Rama Rao, they used to enjoy it and no one raised any objection. “Now-a-days the satires on TV channels are causing pain to individuals,” Dasari felt.

Prof Haragopal said Devi Priya penned the poems in such a way that even the common man could understand key developments. Praja Front vice-president M Vedakumar and journalist Tankasala Ashok spoke.

Devi Priya,  journalist K Ramachandra Murthy, poets Yendluri Sudhakar, K Siva Reddy, Khadar Mohiuddin, Ghanta Chakrapani, Goreti Venkanna, Potturi Venkateswara Rao and others were present.
