Budding Engineers Take Note

VIT University is holding its VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) for admission into their BTech programmes like Bio Tech, Bio Med, Civil Chemical, ECE, EEE, Mechanical and others. Interested students can fill in their applications online at www.vit.ac.in and offline applications forms can be obtained by sending a demand draft of Rs 990 drawn in favour of the VIT University or obtain application forms from designated branches of post offices by cash payment.  Dr G Viswanathan, chancellor VIT University said as many as 1,93,790 students have registered for VITEEE. The last date for filling of application has been extended from February 27 to  March 15 and the exam is scheduled to be held between April 8 and 19. It will also be held in Dubai and Kuwait, apart from 112 Indian cities, Viswanathan said. The results will be announced on or before April 28 on the university’s website,www.vit.ac.in.On the placement front, he said 3,031 students have been placed so far with the highest offer at Rs 16 lakh per annum. The university ranks fourth in the country. Andhra Pradesh has the maximum number of registrations (37,298 including 29,606 males) followed by Uttar Pradesh (28,337), Bihar (18,861), Maharashtra (14,801), Rajasthan (12,839) and Tamil Nadu (12,555). Among the cities, Hyderabad topped the list with 13,983 candidates followed by Delhi (13,270), Kota (10,461), Patna (9,669) and Vijayawada (8,913).
