Review meet on metro rail discusses proposal for third bridge to MGBS

HYDERABAD: Chief secretary Rajiv Sharma has  asked principal secretary (MAUD) MG Gopal to hold a joint meeting with irrigation, RTC and metro rail officials to finalise  technical parameters for a third bridge to be built connecting Rangmahal Junction, near Putlibowli (Koti), with Mahatma Gandhi bus station.

He was reviewing the progress on finalisation of a detailed project report  on the proposal for the bridge. 

The chief secretary held a Special Task Force meeting at the Secretariat here on Tuesday and reviewed the progress of metro rail project. He reviewed the status of 281 properties (214 private and 67 government- vested municipal properties). HMR managing director NVS Reddy informed Rajiv Sharma 24 properties had been dismantled since the last STF meeting and compensation cheques for another 125 properties would be issued soon. The chief secretary fixed target dates for dismantling of the remaining properties.

Additional commissioner of police (traffic) M Jitendar made a presentation on the  remedial measures to be taken up for minimising the traffic woes during execution of metro rail work. He also suggested some improvement and rectification works to be taken up by L&T MRHL and GHMC.

The chief secretary suggested that GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar hold a weekly meeting with all concerned departments on the matter.

Principal secretary (GAD) Ajay Mishra, home secretary B.Venkatesham, TSSPF director-general Tejdeep Kaur Menon, director-general of fire services Rajiv Ratan, Hyderabad police commissioner M Mahendar Reddy, water board managing director M Jagadeeshwar, Hyderabad collector K Nirmala, Rangareddy collector Raghunandan Rao, TSRTC joint managing director GV Ramana Rao and others participated in the meeting.
