Metro Rail Construction Works to Hit Train Services Today

HYDERABAD: A traffic block on train movements in the Bharatnagar-Sanathnagar stations here to facilitate Metro Rail crossing works will hit regular train services between 12.15 p.m. and 3.15 p.m. on Saturday.

Accordingly, all the 18 MMTS services to and from Lingampalli are cancelled for the duration, apart from Lingampalli-Falaknuma and Hyderabad-Lingampalli MMTS service.

Passenger trains like Vikarabad-Kacheguda, Hyderabad-Tandur and Secunderabad-Vikarabad are also cancelled, says a press release. Falaknuma-Hyderabad MMTS service will be partially cancelled between Secunderabad and Hyderabad. Pune-Secunderabad Shatabdi Express will be partially cancelled between Lingampalli and Secunderabad and they will terminate and originate from Lingampalli instead of Secunderabad, as per the scheduled timings at Lingampalli.

Vikarabad-Guntur Palanadu Express, which departs from Vikarabad at 01.45 pm has been rescheduled to depart at 02.30 pm.

SCR Nets `8.11 cr towards Penalty from Ticketless Travel: The South Central Railway collected `8.11 crore towards penalty from ticketless and irregular travellers during last month. In February, as many as 2.55 lakh cases were detected which is 17.4 percent higher when compared to cases detected in the corresponding period of last year. An amount of `8.11 crore was realised from these ticketless travels, irregular travel and unbooked luggage cases towards penalty registering an increase of 21.36 percent over the same month of last year.
