HYDERABAD: Continuing its crackdown on history-sheeters and chain-snatchers, the Cyberabad police invoked Prevention of Dangerous (PD) Activities of Goondas Act 1986 against three ‘criminals’ on Monday.
In order to maintain public order and to infuse confidence among the public, Cyberabad police commissioner CV Anand invoked the PD Act. He issued orders for detention of notorious chain-snatchers of Saroornagar police limits.
The PD Act was invoked against Mohd Rasheed Ali Khan and Mohd Feroz, both chain-snatchers who have scared innocent women by snatching away their chains. The police commissioner issued orders for detention of Syed Hameed, who was involved in 19 house burglary cases. He was arrested and remanded to judicial custody and facing trial from the Jail.
