HYDERABAD: Mata Amritanandamayi would visit the city on March 15 and 16 as part of her ‘Bharat Yatra’ tour which started from Kerala and will end on April 4 in New Delhi where Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also expected to be present on the occasion.
Amma, during her stay in Hyderabad at the Mata Amritanandamayi Math in Mahendra Hills, will distribute educational scholarships ‘Vidyamritam’ to 1,000 students, ‘Amrita Nidhi’ pension to 500 widows and destitutes. She will also adopt two villages, Kodur in Medak district and Gudipaticheruvu in Guntur district as part of her ‘Amrita SeRVe’ programme to make the villages self- reliant and role models of sustainable development.
Volunteers of Mata Amritanandamayi Math will provide the women of the villages basic education, vocational training and address their health care needs. Free training will be provided at tailor training centers. Tuition classes will be conducted for children in the villages.
