Powerstar Steals the Thunder

The actor-politician drew tremendous praise from industry veterans at the audio launch of Son of Satyamurthy on Sunday

In a testament to actor Pawan Kalyan’s magnanimous star power and presence among the people, Tollywood celebrities paid rich tribute to the powerstar at the audio launch of Allu Arjun’s upcoming family entertainer, Son of Satyamurthy. Veteran director Dasari Narayana Rao, who was the special guest at the event, compared Pawan Kalyan to the legends of Telugu cinema. “Every actor in the industry has his own style. NT Rama Rao had a style of his own, Nageswara Rao too had his own style and now Pawan Kalyan has created his own unique style for himself. In fact, all the heroes coming into the industry are trying to imitate Pawan Kalyan’s style,” said Rao, as the crowd went into raptures.

Earlier, there was a buzz that the actor-politician would turn up for the audio launch, following which scores of fans eagerly turned up at the venue hoping to get another glimpse at their idol. However, Pawan Kalyan failed to turn up at the last moment, leaving fans utterly disappointed. Sensing the situation, director Trivikram Srinivas jumped in to explain the reason for the powerstar’s absence. “I was talking to Kalyan on the phone and when he asked me what I will say to the fans about his absence, I said ‘Amma ni devudu ni chudalante manam vellali kaani, vaaru raru (If one has to see his mother or God, we go and visit them and not the other way around),” quipped the director to a thunderous applause. When fans started chanting Pawan Kalyan’s name, Dasari said, “If you don’t have the patience to hear what some of the bigwigs speak, then there will be no use of people like me gracing these kind of filmy functions. I have come here just because of kind of relation I share with the family of Allu Ramalingaiah. I was the one who launched Geetha Arts. Allu Arjun reached greater heights in his career because of the hardwork he has done over the years.  Upon listening to the album and watching the trailer, I feel S/O Satyamurthy will match the success of Atharintiki Daredi and Race Gurram,” he added.

Son of Satyamurthy also features Samantha, Nithya Menon and Adah Sharma and will release in April.
