Traders Told to get GRN, TIN

HYDERABAD: Commissioner of commercial taxes V Anil Kumar has directed business establishments which are operating without the mandatory Government Reference Number (GRN)and Taxpayer Identification Number(TIN) to immediately obtain the same.

In a press release issued here on Monday, he instructed traders and dealers to contact local commercial tax offices to register their businesses and remit their taxes.

Business establishments having turnover between Rs 7.50 lakh and Rs 50 lakh in 12 consecutive months are liable to pay turnover tax (TOT) at 1 per cent on the taxable turnover.

All traders, who purchase goods for business from other states (CST purchases), should be registered as dealers under the provisions of the State VAT Act, he clarified.
