HYDERABAD: Associate Banks Officers Association (ABOA) on Friday condemned the attack on officers of Sate Bank of Hyderabad (SBH) at Hussaini Alam branch.
Hussaini Alam branch manager Laxminarayana, field officer PJ Kalyana Chakravarthy along with two other officers were assaulted by a home loan defaulter A Mahesh Goud on Wednesday. The attack occurred when bank officials went to Mahesh Goud’s house for recovery of a long pending house loan. Mahesh Goud took a home loan in 2010 but defaulted in paying regular instalments. In spite of repeated efforts of bank staff through meetings, phone calls and SMS alerts for the last six months, the borrower did not respond and failed to regularise account. When officials went to his house, Mahesh attacked them causing grievous injuries, said Harshavardhan Madabushi, ABOA general secretary.
