REeS Silver Medal for Satheesh Reddy

HYDERABAD: The Council of the Royal Aeronautical Society(REeS) of London will confer G Satheesh Reddy, scientific adviser to the defence minister and distinguished scientist at Defence Research and Development Organisation with the society’s silver medal for the year 2015.

The award was announced Saturday in recognition of Dr Reddy’s contributions to major advances in aerospace as a leading navigation and avionics expert and acknowledging his key contributions to ‘development of state-of-the art avionics sensors and systems for key national strategic programmes and other defence applications’.

He will be presented with the medal, at the Wilbur and Orville Wright lecture to be held on December 9 at the Society’s headquarters in London.

Dr Reddy is the first defence scientist working in India to be honoured with the prestigious “Silver Medal” of the Society. RAeS, established in 1866, is the world’s only professional body dedicated to the entire aerospace community.
