HYDERABAD: FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) had organised Design Your Personality, an interactive session with Fashion Designer, Masaba Gupta in the city. Padma Rajgopal, Chairperson of FLO Hyderabad introduced Masaba to more than 150 people who had gathered at the venue.
Masaba is among the most influential and dynamic youth fashion icons in India. Her designs are worn by Bollywood divas such as Sonam Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kangana Ranuant and Aditi Rao Hyadri to name a few. Masaba drew very good participation from FLO as more than 150 members attended the session. Interacting on the subject, Masaba says, “Buy clothes, but add a bit of your personality to make it stand out in the crowd.”
Masaba, 24, had debuted in 2010 at the Lakme Fashion Week Spring/Summer in the GenNext category with her first couture collection titled Kattran.
Giving her opinion about fashion shows, she adds, “They are more of entertainment and less about designs. They are Bollywood driven and PR events for many.”
She was the youngest Creative director of India’s oldest iconic label Satya Paul. Her collection as the Creative director at Satya Paul features Collaboration with Disney India called Monopop. Last year, Masaba was appointed as the creative director by e-commerce website, Myntra. She is also spearheading Anouk, their new Indian Apparel brand.
Masaba created her own mark and has many avid Bollywood celebrities, including Neha Dhupia, Bipasha Basu and Sonam Kapoor swear by her creations.
