HYDERABAD: The exhibition PEEP – ‘Presenting End to End Practice’ which is ongoing at Dhi Art Gallery became more interesting than the regular art affairs in the city.

Other than the paintings the artworks comprised different installations and sculptures by a group of nine artists: Anila Kumar, Gayatri, Kiran Kumar, Laxmi Kiran, Prabhakar Sahoo, Srinivas Bobbili, Veerareddy, Ramakrishna and Srinivas Rao. The inauguration day also saw interesting activities of artists’ and audience interaction. They distributed small chits to the attendees asking them to write two lines about the art works on display. And that resulted in some engaging responses.

One of the art works comprised a human figure that of a woman lying down on the floor balancing a fancy glossy magazine on her stomach.
A closer look tells you that the figure’s limbs are made of hard brown paper. What makes this work interesting is that the paper-woman is wearing latest pair of running shoes with one leg folded carelessly as if she has all the time in the world. And no she’s not a happy-go-lucky fitness freak young woman. Another eye-catching work was of three colour pencils bundled together with rubber bands and kept atop one another. Perhaps it depicted the three dimensions yet searching for the fourth one. The exhibition will be on till December 31.
