HYDERABAD: The demand for University of Hyderabad’s  vice-chancellor P Appa Rao’s resignation is getting louder and shriller after a fresh document stating that the allegations of ABVP leader N Susheel Kumar are baseless. Susheel in his statement had alleged that the accused had trespassed into his room, dragged him out, beat him up on his stomach and  threatened to burn him.

A counter affidavit filed by Cyberabad police commissioner CV Anand in the High Court on October 3, 2015, denied all the allegations made in the writ petition by N Vinaya, mother of Susheel Kumar.

According to the counter affidavit, the medical certificate issued by the medical officer Dr P Chenna Reddy states the injuries sustained by Susheel during the incident were ‘simple’ in nature but during the course of treatment it was revealed that he was suffering from appendicitis and was operated immediately for that.“Appendicitis is not due to the result of any assault and it is coincidental that existing ailment was diagnosed and treated when Susheel was admitted,” the statement says quoting the medical officer.

“The allegation of the petitioner (Susheel’s mother) that the respondent police was hand in glove with the attackers is baseless,” the counter affidavit said.

In her affidativit, Susheel’s mother said that when her son dialed 100 and alerted SI Naveen of Gachibowli police, in the presence of two constables her son was beaten up and handed over to the attackers.

“In fact, after receiving the information the SI informed night patrolling duty incharge S Ramu of Gachibowli police station and Ramu along with two constables  reached the spot. But no such incident whatsoever has happened in their presence,’’ the counter affidavit reads.

With the document emerging now, students have trained their guns directly at the VC stating that the latter deliberately kept the document in the dark even when he was told that the proctorial board which took a decision to suspend the five Dalit scholars took the views of Cyberabad police as well as the security guards posted on campus.
