Milk, honey adulteration unit busted

HYDERABAD: The South Zone police unearthed a milk adulteration and honey making unit and also detained 21 history-sheeters, and 65 vehicles, during a cordon and search operation in the wee hours of Saturday.

Using Google maps, around 400 police personnel from various police station of the South Zone cordoned Kamatipura, Falaknuma, Chandrayangutta, Barkas and Vattepally areas and searched thousands of houses to nab the old offenders.
A few days ago, the Hyderabad city police had conducted a criminal survey and mapped the houses of the history sheeters, chain-snatchers and other property offenders earlier arrested by the police.
“With the help of the previous mapping, we cordoned the areas and searched the houses to ensure that the offenders were present at the same locations.”

“This mapping also avoided inconvenience to the general public, as the police directly knocked the door of the accused, instead of searching every house,” said South zone DCP V Satyanarayana said.
He said during the operation, an adulterated milk and honey making unit at Kamatipura was busted.
The accused sold the adulterated milk to local shops. They (accused) were also mixing jaggery and water, and selling it as honey.
Two illegally-run slaughter houses were also  also raided.
