HYDERABAD: With the recent arrest of an assistant director of films and a Tollywood producer over drug peddling at Jeedimetla, the Cyberabad police plans to do decoy operations and conduct special drives to unearth the drug racket, which is believed to involve a lot of students.
During the arrest of V Kishore, one-time assistant of film director Ram Gopal Varma from Nizamabad and producer K Venkata Suresh Babu of Nellore, the Special Operations Team of Cyberabad had seized about 1.2 kg of Amphetamine, a Narcotic drug. Amphetamine is called Ice or Speed and is used to increase concentration, for prolonged erections, has an adverse effect, even if it is consumed in negligible quantities.
Based on the confession of the accused Kishore and Babu, the SOT sleuths alerted the Nellore police, who acted swiftly and arrested one M Srihari Reddy at his house and seized about 1.5 kg of the drug.
