Home Guards welfare association president stages protest

All India Home Guards Welfare Association Telangana State president and politician Sakinala Narayana began an indefinite fast.

HYDERABAD: Demanding that the government regularise the home guards service, the All India Home Guards Welfare Association Telangana State president and politician Sakinala Narayana began an indefinite fast on Sunday.

Narayana said he has begun a fast-unto-death at Amberpet to protest against the state government’s callous attitude in fulfilling their promises. The government has promised to regularise the home guards service and would offer government pay considering them as government employees. However, the government failed to accomplish their promises. A huge number of home guards have participated in the protest programme that was kicked off at Amberpet.
