HYDERABAD: A 15-year-old Class X student was hospitalised after receiving head injuries as the class teacher thrashed him for not paying a fine of `100 for being absent from class.
The incident was reported from Rajadhani School in Papireddy Nagar under Jagadgirigutta police limits in Hyderabad on Wednesday. The injured student has been identified as Suresh.
Suresh fell unconscious soon after he was beaten by his teacher. Later, he was admitted in a private hospital.
According to police, they received a complaint from the boy’s parents alleging that the class teacher Rama Devi had assaulted Suresh for not paying a fine of `100 that was imposed on him for not attending the school for three days.
Based on a complaint, police registered cases against the teacher and the management of the school.
However, president of the Balala Hakkula Sangham, Anuradha Rao, demanded that the police to register an attempt to murder case against the teacher for assaulting the student for not paying fine.
