The students of Loyola College created wonderful art-works using their skills and unmatched imagination

HYDERABAD: The premises of Loyola College were accentuated with a celebrative ambience and fervour during the Annual Animation fest. The festival that concluded recently was a success as it unveiled and introduced the students to myriad media that can be used for creating art forms and comic characters. The students were exposed to varied media that inspired them to be creative without constraint and boundary. The Head of the Department of Animation and design Bhaskar Rao and faculty member Janardan inspired the students to be open to novel ideas and themes.

The students worked in varied media during the three-day workshop that took place in the College. After the completion of the workshop the works were displayed for public viewing. During the workshop the students had a great time working together and were frequently guided by their seniors and teachers. The students were passionately engrossed in creating art works in the form of clay models, drawings, paintings and digital art. Diverse material such as iron rods, wires and waste metal scrap were amalgamated and welded together to create fascinating structures.

During the two-day exhibition titled, ‘Artifest Cosmos’, the clay models, digital paintings and creations made from metal scrap were displayed enthusiastically throughout the available space in the hall. The clay models were immensely diversified based on multiple subjects.

These collectively created for the viewers an experience that was eclectic and yet pleasantly overwhelming. One of the clay models depicted a ferocious dragon with its head stretched towards the sky, as if looking at something that has suddenly caught its attention. The other models in clay such as the bust of a cupid and a friendly, cuddly panda were few of the centres of attractions of the festival.

While talking about his experience during the festival, the student coordinator Shivraj Bunty said, “The most awaited event was finally announced and all of my fellow mates were quite excited as it was our first experience working with our seniors and teachers. The event displayed clay models, sketches, paintings, digital art-works of various kinds.”

They had one week left for the event, they started to plan and then created various models of different height and shape with the proper use of clay. Powdered clay was mixed well and chipped into beautiful sculptures and magnificent comic characters under the guidance of their teacherJanardan.

There was lot of enthusiasm and energy among the students, who worked together as one team and produced creations to the best of their abilities.
