Auto driver says anchor threatened him to join show

HYDERABAD: An auto driver has filed a complaint against the host of ‘Bathuku Jataka Bandi’,  a show aired on a vernacular television channel. The reality show provides much-needed legal and psychological support to mainly economically backward families.

“The show is hosted by film actress-turned-politician Jeevitha Rajasekhar and the team that works closely with her ‘threatens’ people to participate on the show,” claims Konda, an auto driver who filed a complaint with Chilkakguda police on Monday.

The complainant states that he has been receiving threatening calls from the host’s personal assistant, Kiran since September 15.  According to K Srinivasulu, Chilkalguda police inspector, Konda’s wife Jyothi approached  the show makers. Konda was summoned and went to their offices on September 17 when Jeevitha wasn’t available. However he alleged that he has been receiving threats ever since to come back despite him complaining that his health wasn’t supporting him.

Jeevitha Rajasekhar calls it ‘baseless’. “First of all, I don’t have a personal assistant. Even if I do, what business do I have to make calls to someone? For all I know, it must be some inebriated person. These people are all culprits and he must have done something. The wife must have approached the channel and he must have hence gone to the police,” she said.
