Wall collapse leaves one dead and another injured in Hyderabad

Two boys, who were quenching their thirst at a water kiosk (Chalivendram), came under the debris of a wall that fell down after a van hit it.

HYDERABAD: Two boys, who were quenching their thirst at a water kiosk (Chalivendram), came under the debris of a wall that fell down after a van hit it. A 12-year-old boy died on the spot while his friend was hospitalised with serious injuries.

The incident took place in Bholakpur of Musheerabad police limits on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Md Bilal, a class VI student while his friend Saleem Hussaian(12), a class VI student of a local school, who was hospitalised with fractures on his hand.  

“Bilal and Hussain went to the playground to play cricket along with their friends. After the match got over, they reached Mandi Galli, they noticed a water kiosk (Chalivendram) and went near it to drink,” said Musheerabad Sub Inspector of Police Rama Rao.  “While the students were quenching their thirst at water kiosk, the driver of a DCM van hit compound wall where the victims were drinking water while taking reverse turn. In the mishap, debris fell on the victims,” the SI said.
