Illegitimate beneficiary held in GHMC property mutation scam

The cyber crime police have nabbed a man in connection with unauthorised mutation of property documents by entering false details in the GHMC database through fake IDs.

HYDERABAD: The cyber crime police of Central Crime Station, Hyderabad have nabbed a man, Katta Koteswara Rao of Banjara Hills, in connection with unauthorised mutation of property documents by entering false details in the GHMC database through fake IDs.

Two persons had been arrested earlier in the case while another accused, an IT programmer of GHMC, is still absconding.

On April 19, the cyber crime police arrested B.Polaiah, a data entry operator at GHMC, for mutation of property; Lakhan Singh; and a beneficiary, Khaja Qutubuddin. The illegal mutation of property in the name of litigant owners not only involved embezzlement huge amounts of money but also caused loss to genuine property owners.

During investigation, the cyber crime Police have nabbed Koteswara Rao for his involvement in a civil dispute with one Ramabai and others pertaining to a land admeasuring 249 square yards situated on Road No.11 at Gouri Shankar Nagar in Banjara Hills,” said deputy commissioner of police (CCS) Avinash Mohanty.

With the help of Polaiah, Lakhan Singh and Mahesh, who is still absconding, and other accomplices, Koteswara Rao got the property mutation illegally in his name without any documents by paying Rs 15,000 to the conmen and their goons who had been arrested earlier.
