Fake educational consultancy busted in Hyderabad; MBA graduate, two others arrested

An MBA graduate who has been running an overseas education consultancy in Hyderabad has been arrested for preparation of fake project reports and fake project completion certificates.

HYDERABAD: An MBA graduate who has been running an overseas education consultancy in Hyderabad has been arrested for preparation of fake project reports and fake project completion certificates. A fake stamps maker and a systems operator were also arrested by Hyderabad police after they raided KAB Technology and Services office in Koti, Hyderabad. 

Police are also investigating the nexus between a number of colleges and the accused. 

They are learnt to have prepared fake projects completion certificates from leading MNCs like Capitol IQ, Tata, Airtel, HDFC etc., for MBA, BBA, Btech Students. Fake stamps of several top companies including Canara Bank, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, HCC limited, Kesoram Cement etc were also recovered. Police seized as many as 60 fake project completion certificates, 16 fake project reports and 100 fake visiting cards, among other office material. 

Speaking to media, DCP (Central) of Commissioner’s Task Force P Radha Krishna Rao said that prime accused Vaddineni Naveen Kumar (34) is an MBA in Marketing and HR. A native of Nellore town, he had rented an office for Rs 15,000 per month and started KAB Technologies and Services for Overseas Education and training at Koti, Hyderabad in 2016. He had earlier worked as a web designer in Bangalore. 

Police said Naveen Kumar has prepared over 600 project completion certificates so far.  After he was nabbed by police, he confessed to having committed the crime owing to increased demand for project completion certificates from students. Following this, he joined hands with a rubber stamp maker named R Venkatesh (49) and a system operator Kondamuri Balakrishna (29) in return for huge sums of money from students. 

According to police, he has also approached a number of MBA, BBA and Engineering colleges in and around Hyderabad and identified students who were in need of project completion certificates. 

He had also mentioned on his visiting card and name board that his firm provides services of VISA and Immigration services. However, police found out that he did not have any valid license for that. It was also found during the investigation that some of the colleges have recommended services of KAB Technology Services to their students.
