Whopping Rs 454 crore alloted to smoothen Hyderabad city roads

 The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has, for the first time, prepared a detailed action plan for taking up road repairs in a systematic manner at a cost of RS 454.75 crore.

HYDERABAD: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has, for the first time, prepared a detailed action plan for taking up road repairs in a systematic manner at a cost of `454.75 crore.
Repairs to 158 BT roads will be taken up at a cost of Rs 155.22 crore and to 60 CC roads at a cost of Rs 63.93 crore. Besides, white-topping of 103 roads will be undertaken at a cost of Rs 235.60 crore. These works will be completed by March 31 next. Another action plan is being prepared for taking up work on the rest of the roads on priority after March.

To ensure that development of infrastructure is not hampered, the water & sewerage board and the electricity utilities will be permitted to dig roads as and when necessary as the seven-month period from November to May is suitable for such works. During the road works, there may be some traffic restrictions and citizens are requested to cooperate with the authorities.
