Mutton soup thickens: Duo attacked Sudhakar earlier too

More skeletons have tumbled out in the sensational murder of contractor Sudhakar Reddy, who was beaten to death by his wife Swathi and her lover A Rajesh.

HYDERABAD: More skeletons have tumbled out in the sensational murder of contractor Sudhakar Reddy, who was beaten to death by his wife Swathi and her lover A Rajesh. According to police, Sudhakar survived an attack by Swathi and Rajesh on November 26 before being murdered the following day. “Rajesh and Swathi have been in a relationship for the past two years. It was Swathi’s plan to eliminate her husband and live with Rajesh along with her kids,” said Nagarkurnool police.

“They hatched a plan to kill him about three months ago. On November 26, Swathi with the help of Rajesh strangulated Sudhakar and battered him with a wooden log, but he survived the attack,” official added.  Sudhakar was taken to the hospital for treatment by his relatives and brought back home. Swathi immediately made up a story that Sudhakar had injured himself in a fall. Realising there was threat to his life, Sudhakar asked his cousin Aravind to stay with him till the next morning. But, Swathi asked Aravind to leave in the early hours and called Rajesh home and killed her husband.

“Rajesh confessed that he used to take advantage of the absence of Sudhakar and visit his house to meet Swathi. They had been speaking at least four to five times a day on the telephone,” said police.
Meanwhile, it has also been found that Swathi purchased the anesthetic used to drug her husband from a local doctor in Nagarkurnool. Rajesh was remanded to judicial custody on Friday. The police also took Rajesh to the Fathepur forest area in Nawabpur mandal where Sudhakar’s body was burnt.  From there, they seized a bottle used to carry fuel to set the victim’s body on fire and a car on which he was transported.

Rajesh planned
to undergo plastic surgery After eliminating Sudhakar, Rajesh planned to change his face with plastic surgery to look like Swathi’s husband and live with her. He burnt his face and got admitted in hospital, face completely bandaged, claiming her was Sudhakar. However, his refusal to eat the mutton soup served to patients led to him being caught.
