Sikhs celebrate 350th Prakash Utsav with pomp, fervour & gaiety

Thousands of Sikhs and even devotees of other faiths celebrated the Guru’s birth anniversary with religious fervour, gaiety and devotion.

HYDERABAD: Recitation of Gurubani kitans, offer of prayers to Guru Granth Sahib Ji and serving of Guru-ka-Langar on Sunday marked the 350th Prakash Utsav (birth anniversary) of the tenth and last Sikh guru, Sri Guru Gobind Singh, founder of Khalsa Panth who protected the nation from invaders.

Thousands of Sikhs and even devotees of other faiths celebrated the Guru’s birth anniversary with religious fervour, gaiety and devotion. Prabhandak Committee president S Baldev Singh Bagga and secretary S Avatar Singh said the concluding event was organised under the aegis of Prabhandak Committee, Gurudwara Saheb Secunderabad and all other  Sikh gurudwaras in TS. Hyderabad had a huge gathering, Vishaal Deewan (mass congregation) at Key’s High School Grounds in Secunderabad. The congregation was marked by recitation of Gurubani kirtans by renowned Ragi jathas (preachers).
Well-known Dhadi jatha, Giani Fauja Singhji of Sultanpur Lodhi (Punjab), Bhai Shokeen Singhji of Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple),  Amritsar recited Gurbani kirtans and delivered Gurbani Vichar.
