HYDERABAD: Hyderabad is the fifth most dynamic city in the world, according to the World Economic Forum. The city occupies the fifth place in the first 10 most dynamic cities in the world, as per JLL’s 2017 City Momentum Index (CMI).

“More than half of the top 30 in the 2017 rankings are in the Asia-Pacific region. Bangalore, India’s tech centre, took the number one spot. In fact, India snatched the lead from China as home to some of the world’s fastest-changing cities, taking six of the top 30 positions, compared with China’s five,” the WEF said.
So far, only three cities — London, Shanghai and Silicon Valley — have consistently made it to the top 10 since the index was first published in 2014. Environment and housing are among several  additional factors considered for the ranking.

The first set of factors, which accounts for 40 pc of the overall ranking includes socio-economic factors, air passengers, corporate headquarters and foreign direct investment. The second, accounting for 30 pc, focuses on commercial real estate momentum, which encompasses changes related to construction, rents, investment and transparency in the office, retail and hotel sectors.
