CBI arrests MSME official for demanding bribe

The CBI officials arrested the assistant director, SLN Kumar, for demanding a bribe of Rs 15,000 from a businessman. 

HYDERABAD: The Central Bureau of Investigation officials arrested the assistant director of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Development Institute SLN Kumar, Balanagar, for demanding a bribe of Rs 15,000 from a businessman.

A day after officials registered cases, a team of officials carried out raids on the residence of the accused in the city and seized incriminatory documents.

CBI officials received a complaint from K Prabhakar of Shylaja Enterprises, Khajaguda in which he stated that Kumar had demanded Rs 15,000 for inspection of his firm and submission of favourable inspection to NSIC. It is also alleged in the complaint that Kumar refused to process his file which was received from NSIC, until Rs 15,000 was paid.

CBI officials will produce him before the court for judicial remand.
