Burglars loot ATM in KPHB, another bid foiled

A private bank ATM at Kukatpally was looted by burglars, who also made vain attempts to loot another ATM at KPHB Colony on Sunday night.

HYDERABAD: A private bank ATM at Kukatpally was looted by burglars, who also made vain attempts to loot another ATM at KPHB Colony on Sunday night. At Kukatpally, the burglars broke opened the shutters of ICICI bank ATM and looted some cash. 


As security guard Mallaiah was sick, his son Mahesh came for duty and left home after 1.30 am on Monday. When Mahesh returned in the morning to clean the premises, he saw the ATM chest open.


The burglars also disconnected the CCTV camera cables. However, a case has been booked based on the complaint given by the branch manager.

The cash lost is yet to be ascertained and investigation is on, said the police. In another incident, the burglars made a vain attempt to open the chest of an ATM of Axis bank at KPHB Colony, but they had to turn back as the chest did not open. A case was booked by KPHB police based on the complaint by the branch manager and are investigating.
