HYDERABAD: Travelling to the famous pilgrim centre of Yadadri, more popularly known as Yadagirigutta, in an MMTS train is likely to be a reality. The state government not only wants the Sri Lakshminarasimha Swamy temple at Yadagirigutta to be developed on a par with Tirumala but also plans to develop the hillock as a major tourism attraction.

“Works on this project are expected to begin in October or November this year,” Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) chief project manager P Srinivas says.
Speaking to Express, Srinivas said the detailed project report, final location survey (FLS) along with estimates had been sent to the railway ministry for the project’s sanction.
Tenders will be invited in April this year and it will take four to five months for  finalising the bidder for undertaking the works which are expected to cost around `330 crore. Two-thirds (`220 cr) of the cost will be borne by the state and one-third (`110 cr) by the railways.
