Metro rail route in Hyderabad to be ready soon

Urban rejuvenation and landscaping work at metro rail stations on Corridor III from Miyapur to Sanjeeva Reddy Nagar was reviewed at a meeting held by HMRL managing director

HYDERABAD: Urban rejuvenation and landscaping work at metro rail stations on Corridor III from Miyapur to Sanjeeva Reddy Nagar was reviewed at a meeting held by HMRL managing director NVS Reddy with HMRL engineers and contractors here on Sunday.

Reddy also inspected the urban rejuvenation works going on at the metro stations on the stretch. Stating that these works form an important part of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s dream of converting Hyderabad into a global city (Vishwa Nagaram), he asked engineers and contractors to complete works in next four months.

He asked them to post daily progress and any issues in the WhatsApp group so that any pending issues can be immediately resolved by the engineers and town planning officials and the works can be executed faster. He said municipal administration minister KT Rama Rao was monitoring the progress of these works on a regular basis.

SUGGESTIONS: It was suggested that overhead electrical wires at Miyapur be laid underground. Architect Shanker Narayan was advised to design a special ‘rural games’ zone, children’s play area and different activity zones on a stretch of about 1 km from Miyapur to Hydernagar. He suggested Metro station areas to be developed as quality public space for people to enjoy and relax. Bicycle stations are to be located right under the Metro staircases.
