HYDERABAD: A man threw acid on his woman colleague on Monday for refusing to accept his proposal for friendship. The critically injured woman is undergoing treatment and a manhunt has been launched to nab the accused, said Pet Basheerabad police.
The 22-year-old woman works in a ceiling fan manufacturing company at Subhash Nagar in Pet Basheerabad. Initially, the victim and the accused were friends but later she distanced herself from the accused.
Upset over this, Pradeep went to the woman’s house on Monday night to sort out the issue. During the conversation, a heated argument ensued between the duo and suddenly the girl screamed for help. Hearing the scream, her parents rushed and found her lying on the ground with burn injuries on limbs and face.
Pet Basheerabad police said that the victim has been admitted to a private hospital and is stated to be in critical condition at present.
Pradeep had reportedly thrown acid on the woman and fled the spot, said the Pet Basheerabad police adding that a case has been booked against him under Section 326 A of Indian Penal Code and the department has launched a manhunt for him.
