Battered roads to be restored in 10 days

As many as 587 road stretches in twin cities are battered due to incessant rains and efforts are being made by Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation to restore roads in 10 days.

HYDERABAD: As many as 587 road stretches in twin cities are battered due to incessant rains and efforts are being made by Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) to restore roads in 10 days.
Penalty would be slapped on contractors who fail to complete works in 10 days. Each contractor would not be allowed to take more than three works under any circumstances, GHMC commissioner B Janardhan Reddy said.

He said that around 587 roads have been damaged and around 2,000 potholes have been identified. These works have to carried out on war footing basis for which tender process is being completed and concerned officials have been directed to complete the works.Work tenders of worth `41 crore have been called for their immediate repair.
