HYDERABAD: Dejected by love failure, a Hyderabad man killed himself by tightly covering his head with a polyethylene cover and inhaling gas, inside his locked car.

The incident happened at the Malaysian Township under the Kukatpally Housing Board Colony (KHBC) limits.

Though the man died on Wednesday, the incident came to light only today. The residents of the township noticed a pungent smell emanating from the car. They informed the Town welfare Association, which, in turn, altred the police.

The KPHB police soon reached the spot. They opened the car's door and found the decomposed body of the man lying between the front and the rear seats.

"The man identified as Dinesh of Nellore in Andhra Pradesh covered his head in a black polythene cover and inhaled an unknown gas," said KPHB police. They were yet to find substantial details about the deceased person.

"The man attempted suicide inside the car covering his face tightly and inhaling the gas. His body got swelled," local residents said.

The police said a note reportedly written by Dinesh, read that he was depressed after failing in love and troubling the woman he loved. "I did not do anything intentionally, but it happened. Severe financial problems have also forced me to resort to this extreme step. I am sorry for troubling you all..... am leaving this world," the man wrote in his suicide note, police said.

Police said a case of unnatural death has been registered. The body has been sent to the Osmania General Hospital for an autopsy.
