‘Subbaraju gave good leads for further probe’

After a 12-hour-long grilling session, the longest so far after Puri Jagannadh’s, SIT sleuths of Prohibition and Excise department who questioned actor Subbaraju appeared content with the proceedings.

HYDERABAD: After a 12-hour-long grilling session, the longest so far after Puri Jagannadh’s, SIT sleuths of Prohibition and Excise department who questioned actor Subbaraju appeared content with the proceedings.Telugu film actor Penmatsa Subbaraju who was summoned by the Special Investigation Team of Prohibition and Excise department, formed after the drugs racket bust, grilled him on Friday for his alleged links with the peddlers of LSD (lysergic acid diethylamide).

Excise(Enforcement) Director Akun Sabharwal said, “Subbaraju is cooperating for the investigation. He has given good clues to us to probe further in the case and there is possibility of us getting in-depth investigation related to the ongoing probe.”Responding to a query, Akun said, “We can not reveal what Subbaraju has been asked, as investigation is going on.”

Subbaraju, who was recently seen in the global blockbuster movie ‘Bahubali 2: The Conclusion’ was grilled for over 10 hours on Friday. So far, Subbaraju’s questioning time is recorded as the highest followed by film director Puri Jagannadh and cinematographer Shyam K Naidu, who were questioned on July 19 and 20 respectively.

He attended the questioning at SIT’s office in Nampally at 10.30 am on Friday, which lasted till 11 pm, with some snack-breaks.It is learnt that Subbaraju has given very good leads to the sleuths to probe further in the case and links of the other celebrities involved in the racket. 

Extending his cooperation to the SIT, Subbaraju has revealed about his relationship with Puri Jagannath and other summoned persons and also about the alleged kingpin of the drugs racket Calvin Mascarenhas. 
The SIT has reportedly questioned the actor about the parties he attended along with other celebrities and the illegal activities that took place there.He said that another actor Tarun Kumar would be attending the questioning at 10.30 am on Saturday and others summoned in this (case) regard would attend the questioning at SIT office as scheduled.
