HYDERABAD : An IT professional was arrested by the Rachakonda police for allegedly harassing his female colleague. The police also arrested 33 persons for harassing women and apprehended 36 others for teasing women at public places in the commissionerate limits.
According to cops one Vipin Semwal, a Genpact employee, has been harassing his colleague for past four months. Vexed, the woman approached Rachakonda SHE Teams, who, with the help of Uppal police, arrested Vipin under Sections 354 (D) and 506 of IPC. In another incident, a 20-year student from Ramanthapur was arrested by Uppal police for harassing a 16-year-old girl.
The Rachakonda commissioner on Saturday informed that based on the complaints received from victims, 16 FIRs and 18 petty cases were registered at various police stations and 16 persons have been arrested. As many as 36 eve-teasers including four minor boys have been apprehended.
