HYDERABAD: A 45-year-old lorry driver pretending to be a ‘godman’ was arrested by Bahadurpura police on Tuesday for allegedly sexual assault of a minor girl on the pretext of healing her sickness with his mystic powers. On Monday night, the police received a complaint from mother of the 17-year-old victim, that one Ahmed Khan alias Baba (45), a resident of Asad baba Nagar has sexually assaulted her daughter.

The woman had earlier taken her daughter twice to Ahmed for treatment of insomnia. On Monday, as she had to visit a hospital, the minor girl went alone to Ahmed, who took advantage of the situation and sexually assaulted her. After going home, the woman saw her daughter crying and on enquiry, she learnt about the sexual assault, police said.

Based on the complaint lodged by victim’s mother, a case has been booked under Section 376 of IPC and POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act against Ahmed Khan. In another case at Neredmet, an auto driver Mohammed Khaleel (32) was arrested for allegedly raping a minor girl from his neighbourhood. The accused lured to victim on the pretext of buying her candy and took her to his home, where he allegedly raped the girl.
