HYDERABAD: Altercation over second marriage of Dr Mehraj is said to have led to his murder on Tuesday night at his clinic in Humayunagar. The accused, Mohammad Azeem Hussain, who is Mehraj’s brother-in-law, slit the throat of the doctor.
The doctor married Azeem’s sister 18 years ago and the couple have three children.
Humayunagar Police said that Mehraj recently got married for the second time. “After getting to know about the second marriage, Azeem went to the hospital. In a heated argument, Azeem picked up a surgical blade and slit Mehraj throat.
Azeem surrendered and a case under IPC Section 302 (Punishment for Murder) has been registered. He was produced in the Court on Wednesday evening,” Humayunagar inspector S Ravinder said.
