Advocate arrested in Hyderabad for defaming woman judge

An advocate was on Tuesday arrested by the Cyberabad cyber crime police for creating fake Facebook profile of a woman junior civil judge.

HYDERABAD: An advocate, who is also a legal advisor of a private firm in Ramanthapur was on Tuesday arrested by the Cyberabad cyber crime police for creating fake Facebook profile of a woman junior civil judge and also posting her personal and family pictures on the social media.

The judge from Kompally complained to the police that she received phone calls from her brother and relatives telling that someone is posting her family and kids photos on a fake Facebook profile and all the pictures were tagged with her name containing comments defaming her character.  

Thorough probe revealed that the accused was P Mahesh, who is also an advocate, worked along with the complainant in 2010. During their interactions, the accused also developed intimacy with her children and he insisted she speak to him on the  phone. When she refused and warned him, he got angry and decided to defame her.

“The accused also threatened the victim telling that he has her naked photos of bathing and would upload them on social media and extorted money from her to purchase a car,” said the police.
