Rains bring relief: IMD warns of more showers across Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Light showers on Saturday night brought some much-needed cheer for folks at many places in Hyderabad. Thanks to thundershowers the city saw a decline of 1.5 to 2 degree Celsius in the maximum recorded temperature on Sunday.

While the maximum temperatures have been above 40 degree Celsius in the city since a few weeks, on Sunday it was recorded at 38.8 degree Celsius. On Sunday too some parts of the city experienced thundershowers.

The maximum rainfall on Saturday night was recorded at 6.25 millimetre (mm) in Saidabad, followed by 5.5 mm in Narayanguda, 3 mm in Amberpet, 2.75 mm in Golconda and Jubilee Hills, 2.5 mm in Srinagar colony and 0.5 - 1 mm in Mir Alam, Nampally, parts of Secunderabad and Shaikpet.

On Sunday, IMD issued a warning that isolated parts of all districts in Telangana will experience thundershowers on Monday.

Apart from Hyderabad, thundershowers were experienced in many other districts of Telangana as well including in Ranga Reddy, Medak, Medchal, Vikarabad, Nagarkurnool, Mahabubnagar, Sangareddy, Yadadri, Siddipet, Warangal, Jangaon, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Jagtial, Nirmal, Mancherial and Adilabad. Highest rainfall was recorded at Cheriya in Siddipet district.
