HYDERABAD: How about turning into a Xommando for a few hours, pretending to be a hero, may be even save the country from a bomb blast? All this in the safety of a game arena of course. Mystery Room, near Pedamma temple in Jubilee Hills, launched recently, has something on those lines for you.

The Mystery Room is a unique, interactive experience for friends, families and corporate. Quite challenging in its own sense, the motive of this game is to get yourself out of the room with the mission completed before the deadline. The missions include Hurt locker – a bomb diffusion challenge; Abduction the final hour, Lockout the prison break challenge and Cabin in the Lockout The murder mystery. And keeping in mind, the historical significance of Hyderabad they have included Kon of Kohinoor - The mission impossible. Yet to be launched in the city, this one is about stealing the Koh-i-noor, nothing less, from the room and scooting from there.

Although this concept is formulated from the US and Japan, the Indian gamers have a rich appetite for such games and hence, it was brought to India. Aaron Eusebius Pontes, executive of training and development of Mystery Rooms India, says, “The response from this city is phenomenal. People from all age groups are enjoying this game, especially children and teenagers.Every year we are growing exponentially in the country and this is the tenth centre in India.”

The game is actually played in a team of two-eight players, all locked in a room with a set of general instructions.The clock is set for one hour and they need to crack the puzzle within an hour or less. To escape from the room, one has to crack down codes and solve the mystery. The players need to work in tandem and be creative in solving the puzzle. You need not have the IQ of Albert Einstein for this game, but you need to be be smart enough to solve the puzzle and always keep in mind all the minute details as well.

Mystery Rooms also conducts event for corporate with special additions  like karaoke and mad minute games which help the team in the corporate to work together in the environment which gives them the spirit to work for  team projects.

Surya, a gamer, who was visiting the launch along with his friends from Narayana Junior College,  were really excited about this. “We have chosen lockout and was really fun to play this game. In this mission apart from getting entertained, you also can feel the  adrenaline rush. The game helped us to  develop our skill to solve the codes and puzzles.” Prices varies for team size and on peak timings as well. Mission for 2: Rs 1,000 per person and for 5 and more: Rs 700 per person.
