Child rights body’s head  booked for trespassing

Police registered cases against Balala Hakkula Sangham president Achyut Rao for allegedly trespassing into a home for verifying facts regarding sexual harassment case in Tappachabutra police limits on Monday. Later, it was found that the information received by the organisation was false. 

HYDERABAD: Police registered cases against Balala Hakkula Sangham president Achyut Rao for allegedly trespassing into a home for verifying facts regarding sexual harassment case in Tappachabutra police limits on Monday. Later, it was found that the information received by the organisation was false. 


Inspector Ch Chandrasekhar said the Sangham president received information from unknown persons over cellphone that a girl had been sexually abused by her family members in Tappachabutra police limits. 


“Achyut Rao and Women Protection Unit members visited the place based on the information. When the Sangham members asked the girl about sexual harassment, she denied it stating it was a false information.”


“Later, the family members approached us and lodged a complaint. Based on the complaint, we registered a trespassing case and took up investigation,’’ the inspector said. 
Meanwhile, Achyut Rao said that when they were verifying the details in connection with the sexual abuse,the family members and locals opposed them. However, the phone number on which Achyut Rao received calls were switched off.
