Former TDP MP likely to join pink party

Former TDP Adilabad MP and Polit Buro member Ramesh Rathod is likely to join the pink party in the first week of June.

ADILABAD: Former TDP Adilabad MP and Polit Buro member Ramesh Rathod is likely to join the pink party in the first week of June.Though no official announcement has been made in this regard but if his close followers say that he has made up his mind to join the ruling party.


According to sources, roads and buildings minister Thummala Nageshwar Rao, who is considered to be very close to Ramesh, is motivating him to join TRS.


Recently, Ramesh Rathod met Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for inviting him for his son’s marriage and at that time the CM reportedly gave a green signal for his entry into the pink party.
Ramesh Rathod was elected twice as MLA from Khanapur and MP from Adilabad. He has a strong presence in the district.


His joining TRS will boost the strength of the ruling party in the district. Sitting MLA Rekha Naik’s caste issue is in court and it would create problem for her in upcoming next polls and hence the ruling party has decided to bring Ramesh into the party.


TDP lost its hold after TS formation
The TDP had a strong presence in the district since its inception, but its hold weakened during the Telangana movement as the party leadership failed to take a clear stand on the statehood. 
After the formation of Telangana State, the party has lost its hold and the leaders have lost hope in strengthening the party and hence might join ruling TRS party.
