Workshop opens on ‘Video link between courts and prisons’

Anti-Corruption Bureau director-general J Purnachandra Rao inaugurated a two-day training programme on ‘Use of Video Conferencing between Courts and Prisons’ at the Central Detective

HYDERABAD: Anti-Corruption Bureau director-general J Purnachandra Rao inaugurated a two-day training programme on ‘Use of Video Conferencing between Courts and Prisons’ at the Central Detective Training Institute in Ramanthapur here on Wendesday.  

Addressing the gathering, Rao referred to the efforts made by the judiciary to computerise some of the processes and the national policy and action plan for implementation of information and communication technology in the judiciary. The guidelines on conducting audio-video conferences, facilities that can be used in matters such as remands, bail applications and in civil and criminal trials where a witness is located at a far-off place were touched upon and the effective use of video-conferencing facilities.
