Entry fee to 7 city parks  doubled 

: Vistors’ entry to seven major parks of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation is going to be a costly affair as the corporation has decided to double the fee soon. 

HYDERABAD: Vistors’ entry to seven major parks of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation is going to be a costly affair as the corporation has decided to double the fee soon. The cost of the entry ticket, which has remained at `5 for almost a decade, will go up to `10. Morning walkers will be exempted from paying the entry fee. 

The GHMC’s standing committee has approved the proposal submitted by commissioner B Janardhan Reddy in this regard.These major parks are Indira Park at Lower Tank Bund Road, Krishna Kanth Park near Yousufguda, Jalagam Vengal Rao Park in Banjara Hills, Imbliban Park at Chaderghat, Dr AS Rao Nagar Park, Chacha Nehru Park at Masab Tank and KLN Yadav Park at Sanathnagar.

According to GHMC officials, the fee increase will help the civic body enhance its revenue from parks from ` 1 crore to ` 2 crore a year, and will consequently improve the greenery,  roads, pathways and amenities at these parks.
