Bathukamma, Rudramadevi stories to enthral international delegates at GES

A recital curated by world-famous dancer Ananda Shankar Jayant will showcase state’s culture.

HYDERABAD: The international delegates participating in the 8th Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) will get a glimpse of Telangana’s rich history and culture through a 20-minute recital curated, and partially choreographed by world-renowned dancer Padmashri-awardee Ananda Shankar Jayant.  The recital will be performed by 250 artistes led by exponents and will showcase the art, culture, history and ethos of Telangana.

On Day 2 i.e November 29, during the reception hosted for delegates coming in from across 127 countries, there will be a cultural presentation on behalf of the state Government, informed Jayesh Ranjan, principal secretary, Industries, Commerce and Information Technology. 

Speaking to Express, Ananda Shankar Jayant informed that the presentation will map the cultural and historical ethos of the state. “It will also showcase all the important elements that we identify today as Telangana culture. For example, the story of Bathukamma will be part of the whole recital and also the stories of those who ruled the land, like that of Rudrammadevi. It will be a non linear presentation with a mix of various arts and crafts of the state,” she added.
