Hyderabad metro rail clears crucial safety check

It’S official now.

HYDERABAD: IT’S official now. The entire 30-km-long stretch of the Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR), proposed for the inauguration, will be ready for the grand event on November 28 even as the state government is awaiting confirmation from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) about Narendra Modi’s availability. The PM will be in the city on November 28 for the inauguration of Global Entrepreneurship Summit-2017 which will also see the participation of US President’s advisor Ivanka Trump.

The Commissioner for Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) on Monday issued authorisation to HMRL for starting metro rail operations from Mettuguda to Sanjveeva Reddy Nagar via Ameerpet Interchange Metro Station, thus filling the gap. With the receipt of safety clearance from CMRS, the PMO is expected to give green signal for Modi to inaugurate the 30 km stretch including Miyapur-Ameerpet (13 km) of Corridor-I and Ameerpet-Nagole (17 km) of Corridor-III.
