IMD issues heavy rainfall warning

HYDERABAD:  India Meteorological Department issued warning that thunderstorm associated with heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at isolated places in all the districts of Telangana on Sunday.  On Saturday Mir Alam witnessed the highest rainfall in city, which was recorded at 6.3 centimeters followed by 4.6cm at Asifnagar, 4.1 cm at Malakpet, 2.8 cm at Rajendranagar, 1.9 cm at Golkonda, 1.8 cm in Bandlaguda and 1.3 cm in Narayanguda. Rainfall recorded at Mir Alam was even highest across the state. However, light rainfall in some parts of the city was an enough reason for private cab services to jack up there fares as for most of the routes the prices were increased by `100-150 more than the normal fare. On some of the roads, water-logging was also experienced.
