HYDERABAD: Vice president of India M Venkaiah Naidu on Saturday said that “some of us have lost direction because of Colonial rule and slavery and urged that it is time we make our country one of the top most in the world.”At inauguration of The Institute of Company Secretaries of India Centre of Excellence on Saturday here, the vice-president said that the agenda to make our country one of the top most has nothing to do with party or government but every citizen of India must think in terms of excellence.


“India, once upon a time, was known as ‘vishwaguru’. People across the globe used to come and study here and acquire knowledge. What we should aim for is excellence in every sector and profession,” vice-president Venkaiah Naidu said.

Terming Goods and Service Tax (GST) as one of the best transformation laws, he said, “In any transformation, there will some teething problems. But once system is put in place, I can really assure the country that a great transformation will come and India’s growth will accelerate”.
He commended ICSI for the initiatives it has taken up.
