Doc’s death: Hyderabad district collector Yogita Rana part of probe panel

Hyderabad district collector Dr Yogita Rana is a part of committee to investigate into reasons which led to suicide of resident doctor Dr Siva Teja Reddy.

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad district collector Dr Yogita Rana is a part of committee to investigate into reasons which led to suicide of resident doctor Dr Siva Teja Reddy. Earlier, it was a three member panel, which included Dr D Raja Reddy, chairman of the committee, Dr K Ramesh Reddy, director of Medical Education and Dr BSV Manjula, principal of Gandhi Medical College.

The steps were taken after resident doctors of the institute demanded inquiry into the death of Reddy. His mother Kavitha alleged that harassment by faculty and technicians forced him to take the extreme step.
On Monday, NIMS director Dr K Manohar issued orders constituting a committee in which Dr Rana would be a member. He asked it to submit a report in one-month time.
