HYDERABAD: Following the suicide of 36-year-old newsreader Venkannagari Radhika Reddy, the Kukatpally police are planning to find out whether she had written anything about the issues that had bothered her or shared her problems with colleagues and family members.

Radhika, mother of a 14-year-old boy, committed suicide by jumping from the fifth floor of Srivilla apartments in Moosapet on Sunday night. The police had recovered a note from her bag wherein she reportedly mentioned: ‘my brain is my enemy’.In initial probe the police found that Radhika married Bhaskar Reddy of Banswada about 15 years ago.

But, without giving him a divorce, she married Anil Kumar of Guntur in 2013. Last year, she divorced Anil. The police said that for about six months after divorcing her second husband, Radhika lived alone, while her son Bhanu Teja Reddy (14), who is mentally challenged, stayed with her father. Her younger sister Renuka, a divorcee, also lived with her father. Around six months ago, Radhika’s father took her to his home at Srivilla apartments, said Kukatpally SI J Narayan Singh.

After returning home from the office at around 10.40 pm on Sunday, she reportedly went upstairs and jumped to death. “We will collect her call data records and analyse them, and also verify if she had written anything about her issues or shared with her colleagues,” said the SI.Her body had been handed over to the family members and final rites were performed at Hindu Cemetery in Erragadda on Monday.
